Better late than never I always say. I am spending the first part of this year catching up on unfinished projects. In 2012 I participated in BJP and have had the pieces sitting around all this time while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do with them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found this fabric, 2 yards, on sale for $2.00. The antique doily runner is from a garage sale or shop and had a tag of $7.00 still attached. I couldn't remember when or where I purchased it, but was saving it for something special. It was perfect for this! I used the fabric and made binding for each of the beaded lace pieces, hand stitching it on. I also hand stitched the lace runner in place, stretching and measuring as I went. I still need to buy a dowel for the top pocket for hanging...and then find a place to hang it. The entire piece is 5' long x 14.5" wide. It was difficult to photograph. You can view close-up photos of my monthly beaded pieces by selecting the BJP tab near the top of <a href="http://ceoriginals.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">my blog</a> at http://ceoriginals.blogspot.com.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had run out of ecru/ivory seed beads at one point and used black seed beads instead until I could find more. I have added the same binding to these two pieces and found two more doilies that matched each other. I am planning on mounting these and will probably frame them. It feels so good to finish projects - especially when the results turn out the way you hoped.</div>

I finished them in in spring and just haven't blogged about them.<br />

Her BFF's birthday is 3/11 so she picked one that looked 'celebratory and fun'. We then moved on to the seed beads and the colors were selected. (I helped a bit more than she would like because, after all, I'm the one who does the beading and who will have to look at the jars form my beading table!) The supplies sat on their little tray for many weeks, but now I am happy to say the jar is completed. The colors actually remind me of Mardi Gras, and since Easter is in March this year, you could even say it fits into that scheme. I can say how happy I am with the way the little piece on the cork top turned out. I finally got one to lay flat! And I love how I put the larger 6's on their side. My daughter is already asking to 'open the box' to pick out April's inspiration, but I told her she has to wait! See you all next month..... <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUcdsKgASPhlRNRxYJzx9IyentXDZ9tbVPKCpbiPeqbpc-KzAC_ttsB0XYdITgKWfxP_80dBxce0TQ_4mmuNd14pDDvnTTEZdshqCrA1ooaR5uKZMTyIXUimGwpooUmTf05TP4u_969AUo/s1600/IMG_4705%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUcdsKgASPhlRNRxYJzx9IyentXDZ9tbVPKCpbiPeqbpc-KzAC_ttsB0XYdITgKWfxP_80dBxce0TQ_4mmuNd14pDDvnTTEZdshqCrA1ooaR5uKZMTyIXUimGwpooUmTf05TP4u_969AUo/s320/IMG_4705%5B1%5D.JPG" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5PmaDE51YFIjDJMoTaDtLaNqIZt2pns2cdjsXaheA7-GmkM3WML-lQzW0CVRwQsbPKdUtuMiiTV7bOD9R4x6iFzZNkI3MkEKQsweuiQYlKGxb-bzAW8qRwjEWk8J3D5mWvOAEHHLId4BS/s1600/IMG_4704%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" ><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5PmaDE51YFIjDJMoTaDtLaNqIZt2pns2cdjsXaheA7-GmkM3WML-lQzW0CVRwQsbPKdUtuMiiTV7bOD9R4x6iFzZNkI3MkEKQsweuiQYlKGxb-bzAW8qRwjEWk8J3D5mWvOAEHHLId4BS/s320/IMG_4704%5B1%5D.JPG" /></a>

By February 22 I had finished two more stars. I will post photos on my blog. I made the trip last year to LaConner Quilt museum to see Thom's work and was awestruck. I took lots of photos but we all know that viewing a piece in person tells a different story than photos. This book is full of inspirational photos and some sage advice.I highly recommend it. Thanks Thom.<br />
Here are parts of the two stars I have finished and I have another in progress and so many ideas that I don't know sometimes where to start....so on to beading...Vickie<br />

I haven't truely decided what I going to do next. Maybe more beaded rocks. Kind of hate to be completely finished with them... and I do have many more rocks that I could use. I'm more than a little blue to be ending this series, but am certainly looking forward to starting on 2013! How about the rest of you? This piece was finished in December, but I didn't get a chance to take photos until a couple of weeks ago. Then Blogger updated something and I couldn't post photos for some reason. Grrrr!!!! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used blue, green, and silver for the holiday colors, Chanukah, Christmas, and a bit of sparkle. The charms start at the top with LIVE. Life is so short and we never know how much time we have, so it's important to live life to its fullest. Below that one is a ship to represent our December trip to the Galapagos Islands, a dream trip if there ever was one. It was fantastic and everything I could have wanted it to be. We were on a power catamaran (no cat charms) with only 8 cabins, and the guests on our cruise totaled 13. This is a trip I've been wanting to take for over 30 years and now was the time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The other two charms obviously are for the two major holidays during December; of course there are others, but those are the ones I choose. Also, I used bells in the center to add a bit of whimsy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now 2012 is complete and on to January 2013.</div>

So I have finally taken pictures of my 2012 year. I decided to just photo them all together, well six monthas at a time. So if you are interested in seeing them they are here and on my blog. Now on to 2013, see you there! (Oh, in case you wondered, the only one of these critters that was not in my yard was of course the swan, she was in the lake behind us.) The porky that stars in December, tried to come in the house one night. It was just awfully cold and the wind was awful, so I don't blame him/her for wanting in.<br />

December will be finished later today, but August is lagging far, far behind. It will happen. I promise!<br />

My 2012 spiral is finish, just under the wire! I can't believe a year has passed since I started this project. On the other hand, it certainly was a lot of beading...I'd love to know how many beads I used in this projects! (No, I'm not going to count them!) :P<br />

I finished this piece early in December, but the holiday rush and work events conspired to keep me away from the computer. As I said, "time flies", but I'm happy that I've finally posted. Anyway, I needed calming, so the colour for November is soft and restful. Come read all about it by clicking on the following link - <a href="http://artfuldreamer.blogspot.ca/2012/12/bjp1112-time-flies.html">http://artfuldreamer.blogspot.ca/2012/12/bjp1112-time-flies.html</a><br />
<br />
By the way, December is also finished, so I've completed my BJP obligations for 2012. Oh, I still need to post, but first I need to take some photographs. LOL! I'll try to do that next weekend!<br />
<br />
I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Christmas or whatever other holiday you celebrate at this time of the year. Hi all - My December piece was about my new, 1st, grand baby - Liam Jacob, born 12/20/12 at 7 lbs 14.4 oz, 19.5". He is such a cutie and <a href="http://www.kcenamels.com/BeadChallenges_Projects/BeadJournalProject/2012BJP" target="_blank">my BJP</a> is about him at the base of the Tree of Life.<br />
<br />
So this is the end of another year. I have been very happy with the last 5 years of BJP and am looking forward to next year's where I'll be journaling a holiday every month. I was so excited about my January holiday design - Inauguration Day, that I already finished most of it. But I'm not "finishing" it until January so I can say it was made in 2013! See it early next month<br />
<br />
Here's wishing everyone a very terrific holidays and Happy New Year.<br />

Wow, is this really the end of the year! It has gone quickly. I decided to finish off the year with a lacy snowflake. We have had a draught here in the Midwest for several months and I am hoping for some moisture in the ground and a beautiful white Christmas. I thought maybe one snowflake would get things moving. I made this one up as I went along and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.</div>

I have a ways to go, but feel I have learned so much just by observing, asking questions and practice...along with lots of patience. I have especially learned that nothing is gained by rushing through the process, but rather to slow down, do the best I can and enjoy the experience in order to get the best results. Thanks so much to all those instrumental in forming this group and in keeping it operating. I won't be participating in 2013 other than following your creations, but I am sure I will be doing some beading periodically throughout the year. Hopefully I can join up with the group again in 2014. I look forward to seeing what you all come up with in 2013!</div>

I have decided to turn my BJP2012 into a banner and will share that on my blog when I complete it, so I hope you will check back. I am working on my CQJP 2012 wall hanging currently, but my hope is to complete the banner for this before the end of 2012 or in January at the latest. </div>

As you may remember, I'm combining the BJP with the color palette challenge being posed by Patchwork Times as well as a Crazy Quilt Journal Project challenge, but this month, the color palette challenge threw a curve ball at me with a monochromatic color palette! It was fun to do and I enjoyed the final look --- you can see it <a href="http://210920746822434353.weebly.com/1/post/2012/12/color-palettecrazy-quilt-journalbead-journal-project-challenges-december-2012.html">here</a> --- but it didn't fit in with the scrappy look of the other eleven months in the challenge.<br />
<br />
Sooooo... I did an alternate block --- I picked 6 fabrics that had been used at least twice in the other eleven pieces and made<a href="http://210920746822434353.weebly.com/1/post/2012/12/2012-a-year-of-challenges-week-forty-nine.html"> this...</a><br />

Now I have a monochromatic orphan block! What to do?Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855755972872063338.post-87492052766879753582012-12-07T07:00:00.000-08:002012-12-07T07:00:43.884-08:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Earlier this year we spent 2 weeks in Wales and there were red dragons everywhere so, when a friend gave me this little one, he had to be a Welsh dragon. She'd bought him at a car boot sale (like a garage sale) for 20p (very cheap) and she challenged me to bead him. I think he makes a fitting finale for 2012. Again, mostly 15s, plus a few 10s, crystal toenails and fiery eyes. I left most of his wings unbeaded as it would have made them droop too much and I like the original material anyway. I had to give him a couple of horns on his head and one on the end of his nose - the little white fangs make him look cute. I just took the other slices off the wall and put them all in a circle and, I must say - I really like it!! But more on that later... This month's stone, form the Book of Revelation, is AMETHYST, a color and stone most everyone knows. For my beads, I used some vintage Swarovski amethyst connectors and a czech glass bead mix from Bead Treasures which I saw calling me from one of my storage drawers :) There is the pearl at the small end representing the gate, and a few sparkly lochrosen throughout and that tatted edge which can be found in all the pieces. It felt really good to finally put the remainder of that tatted lace away after having in out for an entire year. I wonder if I'll ever use the rest??? The significance of the amethyst can be found in "the constant thought of the heavenly kingdom in humble souls". Hope you like it...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

As you may know, in Revelation, there is an interesting reference to 'foundation stones', so called because the book lists these precious stones as decorating the foundations of the walls of the city in the vision of 'that great city, the holy Jerusalem, decending out of the heaven from God.' The foundation stones served as my color inspiration for this years BJP, and now, you can see the 12 slices all together, clockwise from 12 o'clock are: Jasper, Sapphire, Chalcedony, Emerald, Sardonyx, Sardius, Chrysolite, Beryl, Topaz, Chrysoprase, Jacinth, and Amethyst. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
