If I rip out what I've stitched, is it one step backwards? Or is it editing and revision?

This year's pieces are 2.25 inches by 3 inches, a little smaller than I've done before. I want save some of my beading time to make more beaded dolls and other items.
I'm really impressed with everyone's progress and projects this year. The enthusiasm is contagious!
